On Crack

found a nice crack in the fuel tank and it had the petrol cap fitted the wrong way round. luckily it hasn't seen a sniff of petrol for quite some time and i was able to drill out the hinge pivot piece and weld it up nicely, after a bit of practice on a bit of scrap as i havn't done any welding for nearly 15 years. to save some time and effort I decided to leave the underside in its original splendor as it will be hidden away and just paint the top visible side.

Wiring quandry

I'm trying to suss out which loom to buy for my new steed but it's proving to be a difficult task as far as identifying from various web sources, don't know if it's AC or DC, 6v or 12v. If anyone comes across this can you drop me a line or leave some comments as to what you think it is. however i did manage to get the paint stripped off the handlebar casting and the base of the main shell today.

Free the bars

after much grunting and groaning and the lack of a vice i managed to free up the bars with copius amounts of GT85 and a few gentle taps from a 'tool fine adjust' and my printer has taken a serious bashing printing the 150 super operations and maintenance manual and some wiring diagrams from http://www.scooterstation.com/ under their reference section

A whole lotta wiring AC or DC

can't seem to find which one I need
http://www.allstyles-scooters.com/Sprint_loom.htm
or
http://www.allstyles-scooters.com/Super_125_loom.htm

not to sure if i should opt for AC or DC looks to have a battery tray on the left side but it may just be window dressing

What Were they thinking

As you can see it has the nicest of paint jobs - what were they thinking when they created this monster

Getting started

Well I have inherited some large lumps of metal from my brother which he claims is a 1975 Vespa 150 super, the chassis number seems to uphold this truth but thats about as far as it gets. Hopefully I'll be rebuilding this in the coming months and posting my progress with a pic or two
